Meanwhile, subscribers in Asia get Castlevania Requiem too, which is far more Halloween appropriate. That is one of a few reasons why some subscribers are upset with this month, as these titles don’t really embrace anything horror-related. Something subscribers were quick to point out was, if it were Mortal Kombat XL, there would be several horror-based fighting characters available to subscribers....

Sony Announces New PSVR for PlayStation 5 In a blog post at PlayStation.com, Sony has made everything official. At last it has announced the rightful successor to the PlayStation Virtual Reality (PSVR) system. It has announced a new headset, and to go alongside it, new VR content. Currently, the PSVR system isn’t compatible with the PlayStation 5. We’ve known this would be the case since before launch. However, this is quite the turnaround from Sony’s previous narrative....

Sony’s initial plans for ForwardWorks is to court fans who use “smart devices” — that is, products with Android and iOS operating systems — in Japanese and Asian markets by producing mobile games using PlayStation-exclusive intellectual properties. However, the company has yet to divulge specifically which titles will be ported under the subsidiary’s umbrella. ForwardWorks is set to begin business with ¥10 million in capital, which roughly translates to almost $89,000, and will have its board of directors headed up by president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Andrew House, along with SIE Japan / Asia president Atsushi Morita....

However for Sony, who was hit much harder during the Holidays, the outages have been a trying time for the PSN staff and subsequently for their fans. That’s why they are saying thank you to any who were affected by the outage with a goodwill gesture. For starters, Sony will instantly credit any PS Plus subscribers whose accounts were active on December 25 with a 5-day extension. The extension will automatically go into effect on all PS Plus accounts and does not require any form of redemption....

In a short announcement on its Japanese site, Sony confirmed that Doucet has been the studio director of SIE Japan Studio since February 1, 2020. Doucet has worked at Sony for 16 years and has played an important part in some of the company’s most exciting technologies. He was a producer and director of EyeToy games and he was the game director of The Playroom and The Playroom VR. However, many gamers will know Doucet for directing Astro Bot Rescue Mission which was developed by the ASOBI!...

It was another entertaining outing at Old Trafford, where Solskjaer’s in-form United outclassed slumping Bournemouth 4-1 on Sunday. He has been left out of the France squad by coach Didier Deschamps, who said the midfielder could be missing for three weeks. That would leave Pogba a massive doubt for United’s key clash with league leaders Liverpool at Old Trafford on October 20....

Solskjaer has revitalised United’s form and morale since taking over on a caretaker basis following Jose Mourinho’s departure in December. Although consecutive defeats to Arsenal in the Premier League and Wolves in the FA Cup have dented their campaign, United have got themselves back into the top-four race and the quarter-finals of the Champions League under their former striker. No decision on a permanent appointment has yet been announced, with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino still linked with the job, but Rooney thinks Solskjaer is the obvious favourite....

While it’s always a challenge to gauge the vibe of an entire series off its first episode, the opener of Trigun: Stampede tries its hardest to feel large in scope and fast in pace. The opening minutes of the anime establish its sci-fi setting that show off the polish of the animation, functioning as a sort of flashback establishing the origins of legendary outlaw Vash the Stampede as a sort of focal point of this new adaptation....
