Apparently, that was for good reason, as the console maker reportedly has no plans to expand the device’s range beyond the Japanese market, at least not yet. Sony President Shuhei Yoshida even confirmed the news, saying that the Vita TV is being focused on Japan, as well as China and South Korea, right now. That isn’t to say the Vita TV won’t hit North America or Europe some time in the future — even the near future — but Sony wants to keep the focus on Japan for right now....

Headlining the latest additions to the PlayStation Store’s Summer Sale is Square Enix’s remake of its classic game, Final Fantasy 7. Right now, players can purchase Final Fantasy 7 Remake for $39.59, which is 34% off its original price of $59.99. It is worth noting that Final Fantasy 7 Remake was just released last April, making this a must-get deal for those players who are interested to revisit Midgar in this full re-imagining of the iconic game....

Beginning late last year, after Hotz placed the PS3 root key on the internet, this lawsuit between Hotz and Sony has been one that gamers were watching very carefully. Sony and Insomniac have had a strong relationship for a long time, with the studio recently releasing Spider-Man, the fastest-selling Marvel game ever, as a PS4 exclusive. While that relationship was great, Insomniac still produced games for other platforms, like the Microsoft exclusive Sunset Overdrive. Now, however, Insomniac and Sony’s relationship is sealed, and Insomniac will be making games for the PlayStation brand moving forward. This is good news for fans of Sony and the PlayStation brand, but might be dishearting for Xbox players, as it essentially dashes any hopes of Spider-Man 2 coming to other platforms....

The ACCC points to a claim made by Sony in 2017 that it did not have to provide refunds for faulty digital games if they’ve already been downloaded or if it had been 14 days since the game was purchased. “Sony Europe also allegedly told consumers it did not have to provide refunds unless the game developer told the consumer the game was irreparably faulty or otherwise authorised a refund....

Preparations for the Sochi Olympics have been overshadowed by criticism of a recently enacted Russian law outlawing "propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations among minors." Many worry the law may apply to gay athletes and visitors. LGBT Network said in a statement Wednesday that Thomas Bach turned down their invitation to sit with activists, offering to meet at an unspecified date in Lausanne, Switzerland, instead. Activists say they have been asking for a meeting for more than two weeks....

Many people have made the point that, whilst it may be the most appropriate action to take, social isolation of this kind comes with its own problems, and we should be ready for them.
