The pair apparently have a penchant for bright colors and pastels, as proven by one Reddit user who has shared side-by-side photos of Harvey and Elizabeth matching perfectly.
“Queen Elizabeth and Steve Harvey always dress like they’re going to the prom together,” the Redditor wrote on Thursday.
The photo depicts the queen and Harvey attending various events and sporting similar colors, including instances when they both wore the same hues of yellow, light blue and burgundy.
The queen and Harvey’s matching ensembles may be the only thing they share, though, considering the differing response that they each got from the post. While some people were pleased to see Elizabeth smiling in her brightly colored attire in the photos, others weren’t so amused by the Harvey comparisons, considering his past controversies.
“The queen wears bright colours because it makes it easier for her bodyguards to find her if any crowds dont behave and surge forward,that and so her fans can see her better,” wrote one person, to which another Redditor responded: “Steve Harvey wears bright colours so he seems friendly instead of the massive asswipe that douchenozzle actually is.”
Some were upset to see Harvey being paired with the queen at all.
“As a Brit, I find it offensive that you’ve placed our Majesty in the same college as Steve f**king Harvey. Off with your head. Ps. wearing similar colored clothes isn’t really aligning to the point of your post. Had they been wearing similar colored clothes on the same day on more than one occasion, you may of had a point,” one angry Reddit user wrote.
The meme is an exact copy of one that blew up on Twitter two years ago, although more people found it to be humorous in 2018.
“This is the greatest thing ever,” one person responded at the time.
“This is so good. F**k,” another wrote.
Back then, there were those who were quick to point out that the queen likely would have never gone to prom with Harvey, but may have invited him over for tea.
“Ahem, Steve Harvey dresses like he’s about to drink high tea with Queen Elizabeth,” on person wrote on Twitter.
