These items could just be the beginning of Sonic Frontiers’ DLC. Through more collaborations, as well as other things that could be added to the game, players could still have much to enjoy with Sonic Frontiers after beating it.

Items From Other Video Games Could Be Added To Sonic Frontiers

Due to Sonic Frontiers already collaborating with Inugami Korone and Monster Hunter, it wouldn’t be surprising if Sega worked with other companies to add more items to the game. After all, there have been many collaborations involving Sonic the Hedgehog in the past. Sega and Nintendo have often worked together, as Sonic the Hedgehog has appeared in Super Smash Bros. games, and the two companies worked together to create the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series. It’s very possible that Nintendo-themed items will appear in the Switch version of Sonic Frontiers.

It would also make a lot of sense for items based on other Sega games to appear in Sonic Frontiers. Besides Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega is also known for its work on Yakuza, Persona, Super Monkey Ball, and Nights, among many others, so fans of those series would certainly enjoy getting items from those games in Sonic Frontiers.

More Islands And Playable Characters Should Be Added To Sonic Frontiers

While there is already a lot to do in Sonic Frontiers, there could always be more. Seeing as how Sonic Frontiers takes place across several islands, adding more of them would give players a lot to do. Like the islands that are already in the game, fans would have new challenges to face, whether it be solving a puzzle or fighting a boss.

In the game’s story, Sonic’s goal is to free his friends, who are trapped at the islands. A great way to keep players coming back for more is allowing them to play as those characters as well. It could be a lot of fun to travel around each island as Knuckles, Amy, and Tails, doing the same things that Sonic had done, but with gameplay styles that fit each character. After all, they’ve all been playable in previous Sonic the Hedgehog games, and players have enjoyed controlling them.

Sonic Frontiers Should Take A Page Out Of Sonic Forces’ Book

Back in 2017, Sonic Forces released but failed to deliver a popular game in the series. Sonic Frontiers is here now to patch up Forces’ legacy; Sonic Team changed the formula a lot to give players something that they would enjoy more. However, one of the interesting things about Sonic Forces was its DLC, “Episode Shadow,” which served as a prequel to the main game in which Shadow the Hedgehog was a playable character.

Shadow is one of the most beloved Sonic characters, so some fans may have been disappointed that he wasn’t in Sonic Frontiers. It would be great to see him return in DLC of his own once again, if Sonic Frontiers were to have its own “Episode Shadow.” This DLC could tell a new story, just like Sonic Forces’ DLC did, and reveal what Shadow has been up to before, during, or even possibly after Sonic’s journey. There will hopefully be a lot of DLC in Sonic Frontiers, keeping players entertained until the next game in the franchise releases.

Sonic Frontiers is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
