How to Dodge in Sonic Frontiers
Evading
There are two types of dodge moves in Sonic Frontiers. The first one is the Evade move, which can be done by pressing the left or right bumper on the controller, but the Evade can only be done when the camera is locked on or while Sonic is airborne. This allows Sonic to avoid a devastating move from an enemy or just move around.
Cartwheel Dodge
The other type of dodge that Sonic can perform in Sonic Frontiers is the Cartwheel action, which can be done by pressing the left or right bumpers while Sonic stands still. If Sonic is running and players press the left or right bumper, he’ll do a Quick Step instead, which moves him to the right or left quickly without needing to move him with the left control stick physically.
How to Parry in Sonic Frontiers
Parrying in Sonic Frontiers will not only allow Sonic to avoid an enemy attack, but it’ll also slow down time for a few seconds, similar to Witch Time in the Bayonetta series. Players will be able to get a couple of quick hits on the opponent before they retaliate. To parry in Sonic Frontiers, players can hold down the left and right bumpers. Parrying is super easy in Frontiers because players can just hold it until the enemy attacks –there’s no need to press it right when they attack. Of course, for those who want the parrying to be on the level of Souls games, players can still press the buttons right when the attack lands.
Sonic Frontiers is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
