Sonic Origins: Cheat Codes
In order to enter cheat codes, players must first access the level select menu. This is possible in Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, and fans can use the sound test feature within the menu to input additional cheats. Here is information on how to reach the level select screen in the three aforementioned classic Sonic games and how to use sound test to activate cheat codes:

Sonic the Hedgehog
Level Select: Navigate to the title screen, where the game’s logo appears. Enter Up, Down, Left, Right, and then press any button. All Chaos Emeralds: Sonic the Hedgehog fans should use the sound test feature within level select to play 04, 01, 02, 06. Debug Mode: Use the sound test feature within level select to play 01, 09, 09, 01, 00, 06, 02, 03. Enter a level and press one of the following inputs to cycle through objects that can be placed: PlayStation - Circle, Switch - A, Xbox - B.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Level Select: Sega fans should navigate to the title screen, where the game’s logo appears. Enter Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right and then press any button. Super Sonic: Use the sound test feature within level select to play 04, 01, 02, 06. Then collect 50 rings on a stage and press one of the following inputs when in the air to transform into Super Sonic: PlayStation - Triangle, Switch - X, Xbox - Y. Debug Mode: Use the sound test feature within level select to play 01, 09, 09, 02, 01, 01, 02, 04. Enter a level and press one of the following inputs to cycle through objects that can be placed: PlayStation - Circle, Switch - A, Xbox - B.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles
Level Select: Navigate to the title screen, where the game’s logo appears. Enter Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up. Press Down, Down to access sound test. Super Sonic: Use the sound test feature within level select to play 04, 01, 02, 06. Then collect 50 rings on a stage and press the jump button when Sonic is in the air. Hyper Sonic: Use the sound test feature within level select to play 04, 01, 02, 06, 04, 01, 02, 06. Then collect 50 rings on a stage and press the jump button when Sonic is in the air. Debug Mode: Fans of classic platformers should use the sound test feature within level select to play 01, 09, 09, 04, 01, 00, 01, 08. Enter a level and press one of the following inputs to cycle through objects that can be placed: PlayStation - Circle, Switch - A, Xbox - B.
