Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the supernatural comedy that introduces a new generation of Ghostbusters, was originally slated to release on July 10, 2020; now, it’ll release on March 5, 2021. Meanwhile, Morbius, the Spider-Man spin-off starring Jared Leto as Morbius, a “living vampire,” and it was supposed to hit theaters on July 31. Its new release date is still scheduled just a couple of weeks after Ghostbusters: Morbius will now release on March 19, 2021.
Then there’s the long-awaited Uncharted film starring Tom Holland, although that delay is less of a shock; Uncharted has been delayed at least seven times before. Its new release date is October 8, 2021. Other delayed films include the Tom Hanks-starring Greyhound, which was supposed to arrive June 12 and doesn’t have a new date yet, and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, which will now release on January 15, 2021.
This isn’t the first time films have been delayed due to COVID-19 and it likely won’t be the last. Fortunately, some delayed movies, including Wonder Woman 1984, still have a 2020 release planned for the time being.
