The first 50 employees that earned Ghost of Tsushima’s Platinum trophy earned a special replica tsuba — a sword hand guard —  in an engraved box, both themed after the open-world Samurai game. The pieces of the prize are equally gorgeous, though the tsuba is still the standout. It features lightning raining down from the sky into what appears to be water, and almost seems handcrafted.

A few employees shared pictures of the prize on Twitter, giving fans a look at the engraved box and tsuba, and sharing which position they finished in. Considering how limited the items are, they should make excellent souvenirs for those that managed to earn one. They’re an excellent fit for any collector’s shelf, even more so thanks to the story behind it.

It’s also cool of Sony to run an internal competition like this one. It’s not unusual for developers to receive some type of commemorative item for completing development on a game, but giving a special reward for earning every trophy is a pretty unique spin. It is hard not to feel bad for those that didn’t make the cut, though.

Ghost of Tsushima sales have been impressive, a good sign for any game, but especially so for a new IP. It’s the final major exclusive title to come to the PS4, so it was important that developer Sucker Punch got it right. It boasts a large open world and single-player narrative, which has proven to be a recipe for success for PlayStation’s exclusive games.

That trend seems primed to continue into the PS5, with other major titles following a similar format, like the upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Those that aren’t finished with their journey throughout Tsushima need not worry, the PS5’s backward compatibility will keep the game working on new hardware, so anyone wanting to earn the Platinum trophy themselves have ample time to do so.

Hopefully, there’s plenty more Ghost of Tsushima for fans to look forward to in the future. If the game is expanded into a series, there are tons of refinements that could be made to make it even better.
