Namely, a Sony Inzone user alexniclo has reported via Reddit that they’ve had terrible luck when purchasing the company’s top-of-the-line M9 monitor. According to their post, both M9 monitors they bought have had serious quality control problems, with apparent panel damage being present out of the box.

When Sony launched the Inzone hardware brand targeting PS5 and PC gamers on equal terms, much of the community got excited at the prospect of what this approach might mean for Sony and its fans in the long run. While the reviews have been reasonably favorable towards Inzone products, alexniclo’s findings suggest that it’s not all milk and honey. Alexniclo posted a number of pictures on Reddit that illustrate their point: both M9 monitors have substantial panel damage with large green spots present at all times.

Sony has worked hard to position itself as one of the pinnacles of modern gaming innovation. A recent PlayStation controller patent describes using non-Newtonian fluids for smooth joystick operation, for example. If alexniclo’s claims are true, however, and if Inzone indeed has such a propensity for faultiness, then this may lampshade future problems with the company’s advanced hardware outings.
Naturally, alexniclo could simply have been very unlucky in this particular instance. Much like any other hardware manufacturer, Sony too is prone to making mistakes every so often, and absolute quality assurance isn’t always easy to pull off. In fact, even PlayStation consoles have had their fair share of difficulties over the years, with a class action lawsuit filed against Sony in July over an alleged PS5 defect. If alexniclo’s experience proves emblematic of Inzone’s QA in general, of course, it won’t take long until this information is revealed.
